Application and admission process

Please read all the information on the Research MSc in Water and Sustainable Development programme before you apply. Then choose the study track and study profile which suits your academic background and ambitions best. You also need to indicate at which of the IHE Delfts six academic departments you would prefer to do your thesis research. In your application you will be asked for your motivation why you select a specific track, profile and department and this motivation will be used to decide on your admission. It is therefore very important that you very carefully read what the various tracks, profiles and departments are about.  IHE Delft will consider your preferences in the assessment of your application. Your choice of track and profile will be finalized once your financial support is confirmed and following an online meeting with an IHE coach.

You need to upload the following documents to apply: 

  • Photocopy of your passport or ID
  • Certified copy of your academic diploma BSc Degree 
  • Certified copy of your academic diploma MSc Degree (if applicable)
  • Certified copy of your academic transcript BSc Degree 
  • Certified copy of your academic transcript MSc Degree (if applicable)
  • Your Curriculum Vitae
  • Two letters of recommendation - for more information check our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
  • Result of an English language test (if required, see English language requirements


All information and documents should be provided in English. If any of the original documents is in another language, an official English translation by a sworn translator must be uploaded in addition to the original document
